Last week I was invited toThe Refinery which is the only spa I have reviewed that is dedicated to MEN ONLY.

Where in the world

The Refinery is so popular it has TWO locations to choose from in London!

With a five chair grooming station and three spacious treatment rooms, the location at Knightsbridge is the perfect respite after hours of shopping in Harvey Nicholls and Harrods.  Situated on Montpelier Street, The Refinery is a short walk from the 142 hectares of Hyde Park for you to continue your relaxation and escape the buzz of the city.

The Refinery Mayfair is ideal for city lovers. Only a short walk from Bond Street underground station, you are never too far away from being pampered. This location boasts being the home to shave specialist Parsa; winner of ‘Britain’s Best Shave Master’.

The journey to relaxation

With nearly 18 years in the making, The Refinery was created as a place for men to come to relax, rejuvenate, revitalise and to be refined. With treatments from haircuts, to shaves, to massages and facials, there is a service for everyone to enjoy and learn from. We want men to refine themselves continuously and to learn how to look after themselves both physically and mentally.

The Refinery has streamlined the spa experience, delivering a luxury, professional, no fuss approach to grooming.

A purifying facial treatment for oily and combination skin which draws out impurities and congestion, leaving the skin clean and luminous.
If this is your first time having a facial you might want to start off with the more hands on approach. This naturally active facial uses the specially formulated product range by The Refinery, with ingredients to help heal, soothe and calm irritated skin.  Despite combating congestion and blocked pores this treatment is incredibly relaxing, so don’t be surprised if you fall asleep!

Aromatherapy Associates Aroma Clear Facial | 50mins

A deep cleansing facial for problematic skin using galvanic and high frequency current, combined with a range of effective products to draw out impurities that can cause skin congestion.

If you like more result driven facials, this treatment designed by Aromatherapy Associates could be right up your street. If you are prone to blocked pores and congested skin, the galvanic current works x7 deeper than a manual cleanse. Be aware this facial is so effective that you may experience a few breakouts after the first treatment as part of the healing process. If you have acne I would recommend having one per week for one month and to maintain clear skin, I would suggest a top up facial once per month.

The Refinery Shaving Experience | 45mins

A luxurious grooming treatment combining a mini – facial and wet shave, utilising our exclusive Refinery product range. During this deluxe treatment a step-by-step consultation on how best to incorporate grooming products into your daily routine is included.

This shaving experience is perfect for first timers. If you need skincare and shaving advice, this treatment is the perfect way for you learn how to manage your skin conditions at home and apply shaving techniques to prevent irritation and more breakouts.

Taking the fuss out of booking an appointment, The Refinery has an easy to use APP to check availability with your favourite barber. Genius!

Book anywhere at anytime 24 hours a day. With last minute availability at a glance, subscriptions to notifications about your favourite staff or treatments and only 2 taps to request, download our app now!

If you are also on a mission to nourish your skin from within, The Refinery in Knightsbridge is a short walk from South Kensington, home to Squirrel. Squirrel is a the healthy alternative to fast food, I would recommend trying ‘Kale Yeah’ With salmon, sweet potato and fennel this is the perfect skin healing meal for after your facial.

If you are looking for somewhere to nourish your skin after a treatment in Mayfair, why not try Raw Press on Dover Street. Offering nourishing salads, breakfast, snacks and a delicious range of cold-press juices and nut milks, this one is a bit of me!
